The journey framework

Three journeys. One line.

Every organisation runs three core journeys: winning customers, delivering for them and developing the people who do the work. No two organisations run them the same way, so I start by mapping yours, then connect them in one system and automate the handoffs that usually fall through.

One straight line. The Lead Journey runs in from the left on the Sales Side, the Employee Journey runs in from the right on the People Side, and the middle, where they merge, is the Customer Journey: delivery. At Win, sales hands the customer over. At Perform, trained employees take on the work. The stops and examples below are illustrative; every organisation’s map looks different.

Line 1 · Sales Side

The lead journey

Everything on the Sales Side, from first impression to signed deal. The goal is that no enquiry goes cold and every salesperson knows exactly who to call next.

  1. Attract

Brand, content and ads that reach the right audience and make the business easy to recognize.

ExampleThe source of every enquiry recorded, so you can see which channels bring in business.

  2. Capture

Every enquiry from web forms, WhatsApp, chat and social lands in one place.

ExampleForms and live chat create leads instantly, with source and owner assigned.

  3. Qualify

Clear criteria so sales spends time on buyers instead of browsers.

ExampleLead scoring and assignment rules route hot leads to the right person.

  4. Nurture

Useful follow-up for leads who aren’t ready yet.

ExampleEmail sequences and task reminders triggered by stage and inactivity.

  5. Win

A clean handoff from marketing to sales to proposal and signature.

ExampleDeal blueprints, quote approvals and conversion straight into the customer record.

Line 2 · Delivery Side

The customer journey

The Delivery Side, in the middle of the map. Sales joins from the left at Win, employees join from the right at Perform, and this is where brands earn repeat business and referrals, or quietly lose them.

  1. Onboard

A welcome that sets expectations, collects what’s needed and introduces the team.

ExampleWelcome emails, onboarding checklists and kickoff tasks created on deal close.

  2. Deliver

The work itself, tracked so nothing depends on memory.

ExampleProject templates, approval routing and status updates to the client.

  3. Support

Fast, consistent answers with a record of every conversation.

ExampleTicketing with SLAs, escalations and satisfaction surveys.

  4. Renew & Refer

Regular reviews of results, renewals handled on time, and happy clients asked to introduce others.

ExampleClient dashboards in Zoho Analytics, renewal reminders, invoice automation and referral requests at the right moment.

Line 3 · People Side

The employee journey

The experience a customer gets is only as good as the people delivering it. This line runs in from the right, from the People Side of the business, and merges into the Customer Journey at Perform.

  5. Perform

ExamplePerformance dashboards connected to the same CRM data as sales and service.

How I map a journey

From whiteboard to working system.

Every engagement follows the same five steps, whether it’s a single sales pipeline or a full Zoho One rollout.

  1. Discover

Interviews and data review to see how work happens today and where it breaks.

  2. Map

Each journey drawn stop by stop with owners, handoffs and the moments that matter.

  3. Build

The CRM, forms, pipelines and blueprints configured around the map.

  4. Automate

Workflows, Deluge scripts and integrations that remove manual follow-up.

  5. Measure

Dashboards that show conversion, delivery and quality, then we refine.
